Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) Training
Are you not sure of the Rules? Do you need to brush up on the RRS? Do you want to be more confident when racing? Are you worried when someone shouts protest? New Signage
New Year, new signage All the club boat berths have new signs to make it easier to find club boats and return them to the correct berth after use. If anyone is feeling strong at the weekend the club wayfarers 'Blue Bob' and 'Blue Too' are currently in the wrong berths and need swapping.

South Cerney Sailing Club at the West Lancashire Yacht Club 24-Hour Race
Over the weekend of Saturday 21 st September, the South Cerney Sailing Club team took to the waters of the Southport Marine Lake for West Lancashire Yacht Club's much-anticipated return of 24-hour race. Competing in a GP14 dinghy, the team faced not only the challenge of endurance but also the spirited competition from teams sailing both GP14s and Enterprise dinghies. SCSC Solo Open Report
The South Cerney SC Solo open meeting took place on Saturday the 5 th October. This was a combined NSCA Midlands Series, sponsored by Allen and CB Coverstore, and NSCA Western Series, Sponsored by GOAT and Dinghy Shac event. The event saw 18 competitors from as far afield as Cornwall and Birmingham have a fantastic day in glorious sunshine and more importantly a good breeze (with some gusts to spice things up a bit).

New club boat for hire
We are delighted to announce that we have a new boat added to our hire fleet. Mike Rees, a member of the club, has very generously donated a superb example of a Gul Calypso dinghy. The boat is free to hire to members and as like all of our club boats you are required to complete an induction prior to hiring. This new boat will replace our existing Gul.

Improving and Maintaining our lovely Club
As a direct result of listening to members feedback, our SCSC Executive Committee requested the outstanding goodwill of some members to undertake focused maintenance and improvement work at our Club over early-August. New mooring bouys
By popular demand we now have two new mooring bouys in the lake. The bouys have reasonably large anchor weights attached making them sufficient for mooring a sailing dinghy, paddle board, or RIB. The photo below shows the approximate positions. The video below explains how to use them.
