RYA Safety Boat Course

The RYA Safety Boat course is a 2-day programme designed for confident powerboat drivers who already hold the Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) certificate and wish to expand their skills beyond basic boat handling. Building on their existing knowledge, students will gain the competence to manage effective safety cover for fleets of dinghies, windsurfers, canoes, kayaks and other craft operating in a training or racing environment. The course fee includes an RYA certificate and the relevant RYA powerboat documentation pack for each student.

Delivered by experienced instructors, this course will equip students with the skills to deal with a variety of on-the-water situations, from towing broken-down craft to managing rescues in challenging conditions. It is also a required qualification for those working towards becoming an RYA Senior Instructor (SI).

Please note that there is a minimum age requirement of 16 years for students wishing to enrol on this course.
