Club safety boat course

The aim of this course is to provide some training and guidance for helming or crewing a safety boat at South Cerney SC

The course is in two parts; theory and a practical session

The theory MUST be completed before the practical session

This is not an RYA safety Boat course

For anyone contemplating operating a safety boat at a coastal venue it is recommended that you attend an RYA safety boat course

For safety boat helms you must have a minimum of RYA PB2, crews do not need any pre-requisites.

It is not the intention of this course to instruct members how to drive a powerboat.

The RYA PB2 pre-requisite assumes that helms are competent and comfortable driving a powerboat to a safe standard.

If you feel that your powerboat skills need a refresher please contact the training principal to arrange a refresher session priot to completing this course
