Club training
The following courses are run for members. They do not form part of the RYA Training Centre programme.
Introduction to racing
This is a basic introduction to racing at South Cerney, ideal for beginners. The course covers the types of racing available at the club, race signals, courses, and a few basic rules of racing. The course is free to club members.
Class training
Cadet training takes place each Saturday. Contact the Cadet Squadron Captain.
The Laser and Solo class training day is Saturday 22 April. Ask the Laser and Solo Class Captains for details.
If you would like specific training for your class, contact your Class Captain or the Sailing Committee.
Club race officer
This course gives an introduction to race management at South Cerney, aimed at anyone who would like to learn these skills with a view to undertaking First Officer duties. The course is free to club members.

Powerboat training
In order to raise the standard of operation of safety boats the club has arranged to subsidise members' attendance at one RYA powerboat course per season. For details of courses and fees please refer to the RYA Training Centre section of the website. All members who are likely to operate club safety boats are encouraged to join one of these courses.
Galley training
This is an introduction to the operation, use, and health and safety requirements of the galley for anyone expecting to be involved in catering. For further information contact the Galley Co-ordinator.
